Wallets & custody
Everything on Mooneum starts from one principle: your organization holds its own keys. Wallets are connected watch-only, every product reads from the same org-wide account list, and transactions the platform prepares are only ever signed by you.

Address wallets
For most chains, connecting a wallet means pasting an address you already control. That's the whole flow — the address is watch-only, its balances and history appear in your portfolio, and it's the address that receives every incoming payment made to that wallet.
Bitcoin xpub (HD) wallets
Bitcoin can work the same way as any other chain, with a single address — pick that option when
adding the wallet if yours only ever exposes one, as some browser-extension wallets do. Most
businesses want a fresh address per invoice instead, though. Paste your wallet's extended public
key (an xpub/ypub/zpub, found in your
hardware wallet or wallet software's export settings) and Mooneum derives a new receive address
for every invoice or payment link automatically — each payment stays traceable to its own
invoice.
Treat your xpub with care
An xpub can't move funds, but it can reveal every address and transaction that wallet has ever made. Only paste it somewhere you trust. Note an xpub wallet receives its chain's native asset only — Bitcoin, on Bitcoin. High-invoice-volume businesses can raise the default address scan range in Advanced settings — if you do, set the same value in your own wallet software, or it may not find funds we've tracked beyond its own range.
Exchange and Stripe accounts
Alongside on-chain wallets, Settings → Accounts can connect:
- Exchange accounts — Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken, so balances your business keeps on an exchange appear in the same portfolio and ledger.
- Stripe accounts — when the card-payments plugin is enabled in Pay, your Stripe balance and card transactions reconcile alongside crypto. See Cards & swap-to-pay.
The Mooneum Signer
For teams that want hardware-grade signing, the Mooneum Signer is an optional desktop app that holds keys in an isolated, encrypted vault. Pair a device from Treasury's Settings → Devices; once paired, transactions your team approves are signed on that device — trades, payouts, and deposits all publish the same way whether you sign with your own wallet or the Signer.
Who can manage wallets
Adding, editing, or removing org wallets is gated by the wallets feature at Publish level — the platform's highest-trust grant. The same grant gates Signer device pairing and the final step of every approval chain, so the set of people who can actually move funds stays small and explicit.
One list, every product
A wallet added in any product is available to all of them. Pay draws on it for payouts, Trade executes from it, Earn and Borrow deploy from it — and Treasury reconciles all of it in one ledger.
