Invoices & subscriptions
Four billing shapes, one system — all of them settle to the same wallets and reconcile to the same ledger.
| Billing shape | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Invoice | A one-off bill — consulting work, a hardware order |
| Recurring invoice | The same bill on a schedule — monthly retainers, rent |
| Subscription | A customer subscribed to a product at a price — classic SaaS |
| Usage-based | Metered billing — record usage as it happens, bill what was used |
Invoices
Create an invoice against a customer, add line items from your product catalogue or free-form, and send the hosted payment link. The invoice tracks its own state — draft, sent, paid — and payments against it reconcile automatically. Recurring invoices generate and send themselves on the schedule you set.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions bind a customer to a product and price on a billing cycle. Cards (via the Stripe plugin) and crypto both work — see Cards & swap-to-pay.
Usage-based billing
For metered products, use Record usage to log consumption as it happens; the billing period totals it and bills the customer for what they actually used.
Bitcoin invoices get their own address
If your receiving wallet is a Bitcoin xpub, every invoice gets its own fresh address — payments stay traceable to the exact invoice they settle. See Wallets & custody.
